A Quick Look At Baccarat Roads

Many versions of online and live dealer Baccarat have a feature called Roads that you can use to find out the results of past games. If you’ve never used them before, you might find it a little tricky to interpret them. That’s where this article comes in. Take a closer look at the history of the Roads and find out how to make sense of those you can find when you play the famous card game at the best online casinos.

Macau’s Contribution To Baccarat

Baccarat was introduced to Macau’s casinos in the early 1960s, when the now-autonomous region in China still was a Portuguese colony. Knowing that many players believe that analyzing game results might reveal trends that they can use to predict the winning results of future games, hosts at the early VIP Baccarat tables kept a record of each hand’s results.

This process resulted in the five roads or road maps still used today in games at online casinos such as Lucky Creek, namely the Big Road, Big Eye Road, Bead Plate, Small Road, and Cockroach Road.

Baccarat’s Big Road

The Big Road is the main road, and it’s usually shown as a grid with between 36 and 50 columns and six rows. The first game’s result (the Player or the Banker) is recorded in the top left corner.

If the same hand wins the second game, the result is recorded below the first result. If the other hand wins the second game, the result is recorded to the right of the first result. Blue circles are used for Player wins, and red circles are used for Banker wins.

Ties are shown as a green line across the last circle to be recorded, and natural winners are shown as a yellow dot in the middle of the relevant circle. Winning pair bets are recorded as blue or red dots on the edge of the relevant circle.

The Big Eye Road

The Big Eye Road in Baccarat games is derived from the Big Road. The results shown on this roadmap begin at the end of the second hand in the second column of the Big Road. Solid red circles are used if a pattern emerges, and solid blue circles are used if there is no pattern in the results.

The Bead Plate

The Bead Plate is a simplified form of the Big Road. As with the Big Road, recording the game results begins in the top left corner of the grid, and from there, it continues downward. The recordkeeping doesn’t change to the next column with the winning side.

Unlike on the Big Road where ties appear as green lines running through the previous result’s circle, the Bead Plate records ties as green circles in blocks of their own.

The Small Road

Like the Bead Plate, the Baccarat Small Road is derived from the Big Road. The first result recorded on the Small Road is the result at the end of the first hand in the third column of the Big Road. Solid red circles are used when patterns can be identified, and solid blue circles are used when there is no pattern.

The Cockroach Road

The Cockroach Road is the third online Baccarat roadmap derived from the Big Road. The first result recorded on the Cockroach Road is the result of the second hand in the Big Road’s fourth column. Solid red circles are used for identifiable patterns, and solid blue circles are used when there are no patterns.
